CLOSED-LOOP MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION

Improve medication safety + extend BCMA to the OR/ICU

SLS-WAVE

Overview

Codonics Safe Label System is at the heart of a closed loop drug management system. From improving medication safety and compliance, we help create a workflow that incorporates standardization and best practices that deliver real ROI.

Drive Compliance. Improve patient care.

Safe Label System helps meet ISMP Guidelines, including eliminating the use of handwritten labels in the perioperative/procedural areas and including a machine-readable code (e.g. barcode, RFID) on all syringe and infusion labels by 2025.

Every full-color label includes all of the elements required by The Joint Commission International (JCI) and other international safety standards as called for by ISMP Guidelines.

ISMP Guidelines call for taking steps toward the implementation of bidirectional (auto-programming/documentation) smart infusion pump interoperability with the electronic health record (EHR).

The barcode on syringes prepared by Safe Label System, or any syringe with a barcode, can be scanned at administration to electronically document “hands-free” into the patient record at administration using SLS-WAVE, an accessory to Safe Label System.

Safe Label System fits conveniently on an anesthesia drug cart, allowing clinicians to conveniently access controlled and non-controlled medications and medical supplies while ensuring they are properly labeled at preparation.
